Well, I will use the blog for....

I have decided to use the blog for personal family things and use other spaces for my husband's art and my school pages. We went canoeing this weekend and we had a blast. Colleen loved not having to do any paddling, just sightseeing. Well after class is done I will redo this blog site for famly and work on wiki for school and art.

I know what I have to do now.!!!!

I have figured out that I have to get Mike his own email account and set up his own site that he can control. When I have this site linked to mine with same email-I change things on his site as well. I plan to convert this site to his new one and let him go with it. I still am contemplating using a wiki, voicethread etc for him to do his art as well as flickr. It is so exciting. Can's wait to share that new site with friends and the world.

I am still deciding the best way to show my husband's art.

Now that I have explored blogs, wikis,and voicethreads, I am still deciding the best way to put together information about MIke's art.I think maybe voicethread or wiki linked to them may be the best way and keep blog for personal use and link it to them also.

Another Day

Today has been a buy day! Mike is working on a Dance Show with Mo Holland. Colleen is in the show this year after years of not participating. Mike has done the show since Shannon and Colleen were dance at least 9 years ago. He is the MC and works backstage. Shannon helps backstage and handing out programs. It is a very family oriented show with all of Mo's family helping and we help too. I chaperone the girls groups. I am chaperoning both shows with Colleen's group. Mike is backstage and Shannon is doing both(backstage and before). It is alot of fun and we can be together.
Life is good. Mike and I are getting ready to start our kitchen with Mike's design and he will hopefully sit down and add some pictures on this site. I hope so. Have to go.

Michael Mertes grew up in Houston Texas. He attended private Catholic Schools until he enlisted in the USN in 1978.While in the United States Navy, Michael was able to explore many part of the world. He was in Australia, Japan, Thailand and the Indian Ocean. His many journeys help to nurture his love of art. Since he has graduated in 2007, he has displayed his art in Banks, and at UAF in the art gallery. I was wondering how I could do a blog site for my husband to show his artwork. Would this kind of site work for that idea and get it out there for all to see???? I am interested in showcasing his work and so is he. This would work for him too. Just a thought! So I am playing around with that now to see if that would work.

Why Web 2.0?

I am hoping that I will learn more about blogging and wikis so I can easily go into both without having to ask my daughter. It will be so nice to do it on my own.
